The Leela, Goa, is an exclusive resort set on 75
luxurious acres of landscaped gardens situated between the banks of the
River Sal, and the coast of the Arabian Sea.
Resembling a combination of ancient Indian Summer Palaces and
Portuguese-style Villas, all rooms are tastefully furnished with fixtures of
marble, granite, and carved stone. Scenic views of the neighboring golf
course and the beautiful Arabian Sea complement the serene surroundings of
the Leela's 152 rooms, suites and villas.
The Leela epitomises the true essence of Goan people and culture with its
signature hospitality, unique spa treatments and superb location right in
the heart of Goa.
Stunning beaches, magnificent seafront, a harmonious people and unique
culture sets Goa distinct from the rest of India. The former Portuguese
colony is located on the country’s western coast, approximately 1,510 km
south of the capital, New Delhi, and 595 km from the centre of trade,
Mumbai.
Goa is a beach haven renowned for its amicable society, ethnic diversity and
natural scenic beauty. Despite its liberation from Portuguese rule in 1961,
such influence remains rooted in present-day local customs, architecture,
and cuisine.
With more than 500 years of Eastern and Western cultures interwoven in the
fabric of Goan society, a communal understanding among its people has
contributed to the appreciation of varied faiths and value systems. This
abiding respect creates a congenial backdrop for celebrations of different
religious origins. Christmas, Carnival, Diwali, and Shantadurga Prassana are
just a few of the many festivals observed annually. Such festivities have
inevitably drawn travellers from around the world to experience the vivacity
of Goa.
Internal flights from all major cities in India have access to Goa’s
domestic airport, Dabolim. The closest is from/to Mumbai International
Airport at Sahar, and takes approximately an hours flight.
The Leela is situated about 43 kilometres from Dabolim airport and is a
50-minute scenic drive away.
Nationals of Nepal and Bhutan do not require visas to enter India. All other
nationalities however, must obtain relevant visitor visas prior to travel to
India. Kindly contact your local Indian Embassy for applications and
information.
